The Master Data Architect is responsible for ensuring data integrity across all systems. This individual will perform enterprise architecture and analysis of requests and capabilities related to data mastering, quality and governance. This will include information architecture, metadata and data modelling, and aligning master data aligns with business rules, policies, procedures and controls to effectively satisfy corporate system requirements. These duties are performed applying an understanding of the [Confidential Company] business requirements and operations worldwide. The position will analyze requirements against data models and business rules and will also support operational duties which ensure the data element creation/change processes are accurate and efficient. The role will work closely with the Master Data Team and Data Stewards to automate where possible and improve the overall Data Integrity Capability at [Confidential Company].

Areas of responsibility:

  • Be one of several technical points of contact for GL, Product and Customer Master Data
  • Support the Master Data team by establishing strong relationships with business contacts, and helping drive decisions based on results
  • Collaborate with business and technical roles to create governing policies around GL, Customer and Product master data.
  • Participate in the development, updating and maintenance of departmental procedures, tools, and metrics for the master data team and the wider Data Integrity Team
  • Help with Data Management Tool administration and configuration
  • Assist delivery teams in leveraging technology and new models when migrating and cleansing data into new platforms.
  • Provide and contribute to documentation required for all phases of implementation
  • Ensures master data integrity in key systems as well as maintaining the processes to support the data quality.
  • Identifies areas for data quality improvements and helps to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies.
  • Ensures quality of master data in key systems, as well as, development and documentation of processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity.
  • Defines, creates and maintains MDM Models, application configurations
  • Support data strategy iterations with the wider data management team
  • Align data management processes in the business’ value chains and process areas.
  • Support improvement projects from data perspective.
  • Provide awareness training and key user support on master data related data structures.
  • Implement communication, audit and follow-up methods and processes that drive and measure adoption, ensure adherence, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Automate the above activities where possible
  • Mentors and Develops direct reports and collaborators embedded in business teams such as Embedded Functional MDM Specialist, Information Architects, and Data Stewards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree; MS preferred
  • Understanding of modern Master Data Management Concepts and Data Quality approaches, tools, techniques, vendor landscape, and best practices
  • Certifications with MDM tools a plus
  • Understanding of appropriate business domain models and MDM Scenarios
  • Previous experience in master data processing and ERP systems, such as NetSuite and SFDC.
  • Experience with at least one enterprise Master Data Management Tool such as Informatica, Talend, or IBM
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills using available resources, and proactively escalate when additional resources may be required
